| Aaaaaand I'm back. Well, not much goin' on today... or probably this week, 'cept for workin'. At the moment I'm watching some quality reality television, and by quality I mean an old episode of Fear Factor, then some For Love or Money 2 (again), and Who Wants to Marry My Dad. Stupid relationship reality shows..... ugh. Makes me bitter about my nonstop lack of a 'real relationship'... *sigh*. I must be destined to become one of those old ladies who lives alone w/ 30 cats... We'll see how it all pans out... | | |
| Whoa there, been awhile since the Xanga's gotten some lovin'! Bad Kelly! *Severe Spanking!* With the new job & whatnot, I despise going on the computer after work after sitting infront of one for like 9 hrs a day... and while i'm on the job i'm not allowed to Xanga. But I will try to be better about it for the maybe 3 or 4 of you that might actually still be reading this.
So, here's a 30 second recap of the last month:
Lots of working, Cruise to Grand Cayman Island & Jamaica which kicked SO MUCH ASS! Ben Folds/Guster/Rufus concert + me fainting in the crowd, more working, fourth of july, blah blah blah
And on to yesterday & today... yesterday can just go to Hell & rot there for eternity. Went to this graduation/birthday party for one of Colin's classmates from his now ex broadcasting school. The party was fine, lots of fun people & whatnot, colin's classmates are cool.. but COLIN, OH MY GOD.... he got totally trashed & was horrible. was puking/passing out for like 3 hrs, and of course twas my duty to take care of him. He kicked a kid in the face because his 'natural reaction' while drunk and being not in control of his actions is to go into kung fu self defense mode at the slightest touch or at any loud noise.. I swear to god I will never ever do that again, be 'responsible' for him when he's drunk... he better have learned a lesson from last night & will never drink again..... UGH!!! Can you feel the frustration??? CAN YOU FEEL IT!!!!
Anyway...
Today was much better, got my usual Sunday crap done, laundry, getting ready for work type stuff... did some hardcore grocery shopping with the sista. Cooked WAY too much food for dinner. Went to see the YMCA dream house that I want to win SO SO SO badly. How schweet would that be if I won that house!!!! No mortgage EVER! I'd be a 10 minute drive from my parents' house, the house is BEAUTIFUL. *Ahhh*, I better win! And now I'm unfortunately gonna be hittin' the hay soon so I can start another week of work, week number 6.
This week I'm thinkin' about callin' up this band director for a local orchestra that jaclyn & her mom were in, so i can keep playin' the ol' flute & have something else to do w/ myself besides work, meet some new people, etc etc. I refuse to be one of those people whose whole life is just work. I want a social life damn it! anyone wanna help me out w/ that??
But anywhoo, time to go to bed, til next time :)
| Day 5 of work/'the real world' and I'm still hangin' in there... Its VERY hard, but i'm trying to learn... hopefully by the end of this week maybe i'll have a better hang on things.... I've pretty much been writing some SQL, & gettin' friendly w/ MS SQL Server & Crystal Reports. I'm trying to not freak out *breathe in/breathe out*
The weekend (ah how i live for the weekend) was bad/good. Bad = Saturday where I almost passed out in Marcs. Fainting's always fun. Sunday I went out to da mall w/ my sista & Colin, & chillin' for a minute or 2 at Fireman's Park... Ah, the park, so many good memories from high school chillin' there, buildin' fires. Then went to Squires Castle w/ Dmitry for a cookout... Saw "Evil Jon" & his wife Rita, Hank & his fiance, D's bud Anon, and another of D's friends Angela. Good times, good food!!! :) Then D showed me.........*GASP*, ARTGOD *bow down!* :) D should seriously go show some uppity ups his work so they can all bow down to him too. I might go karaoke w/ him & his buds on Thursday... getting me to sing though, that's another story
Anywhoo, gotta go to bed... gotta work once again early in the AM. Lata!
| I've survived my first day of 'work'.... though I wouldn't call it that because I pretty much sat there doing nothing today, which was fine by me really since pretty much everything the person I was watching was doing was completely over my head. Workin' at a corporate headquarters... SO much stuff to learn, So many tables & reports and people.... on top of having to learn like, 5 new programs/languages inorder to do anything. However, hopefully I won't be expected to do anything close to 'real work' for at least a month. If they want me to do something sooner than that, I'll cry. Another bonus was that 2 other new people started today, 1 who's also a JCU alum, but I didn't recognize him (he graduated in 2002), another graduated recently from CSU who's quite attractive, so he and I can have crying sessions together when we're overwhelmed. I shadowed a girl named Angela who is super smart for the whole day, we also went out to lunch with my supervison named Kevin who's also really nice & reminds me alot of Carly's perfect boyfriend. So overall it wasn't a terrible first day of work, but I am going to have to learn a HELL of a lot more than I expected... but I guess the people who have been there over 2 years still feel semi overwhelmed with all the stuff to know w/ the company... So that's both scary and semi comforting.
Anywhoo, I'm off to loaf around for awhile. Hasta La Pasta!
